রেসকিউ সাভারস্ ফিউচার(SPECIAL CHILD SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM)

Here in the United States and elsewhere in the developed world, we consume various items on a regular basis that are produced by hardworking men and women including clothing purchased from fine retailers such as Gap, Macys, H&M, JC Penny among many others. Rarely we do we ponder about the conditions that which these hard working men and women endure to produce these items let alone their capability to earn a decent living.

On the fateful day of April 24th, over 11,00 workers disappeared and more than 2,000 workers suffered permanent disability due to the collapse of an eight story building that housed production lines for 4(four) garments factories in Dhaka, Bangladesh.  Majority of them were sisters and mothers whom worked long hours just to afford a meal for their families. They worked in deplorable conditions such as in buildings, that were never inspected and under the greed of the rich and exploited to contribute in ever rising stock prices and wealth of fine retailers over the world.

Optimists has undertaken steps to immediately mobilize its resources to help the school going children of those affected in the disaster to continue their education under its “RESCUE SAVAR’S FUTURE” a special child sponsorship program. It seeks to attract donations from kindhearted individuals and businesses which will be used to provide assistance to the children of the families of those that passed away and to the disabled. The program will run for 8 years for each child to support their education, health and food. The cost of sponsorship for this special program is only $135.00 per child/per year($142 If you pay online) . The total cost of this sponsorship amounts to about $108,000 for 100 children over a course of 8 years. Your donation to this program will help to provide medical care, food and education to the affected children.

Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated by all of the many volunteers in the Optimists and of course, the injured and families of the deceased.
